Fallout 4: Why aren't you playing it?<br />
<br />
This is the question I was asked some time back. And my response probably appeared rather weak to the person who asked me. I think I replied with something along the lines of it's an open-world game and I'm not sure that's for me. Boy was I wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. I wasn't wrong about it being open-world, though. But I was wrong about it not being a game for me. <br />
<br />
At the time I began considering Fallout 4 as an option, I had been enjoying more and more games with deep, well articulated stories. And a couple of those games were stories without words, without dialog, and without NPCs. Games like Journey and ABZÛ and Neverending Nightmares. Still others were full of dialog and NPCs and conversations. Dying Light, The Last of Us, and Life is Strange for example. And although Dying Light was open-world it had a narrow, and linear, focus. Not that those things took anything away from the game; it was a fantastic game. The Last of Us and Life is Strange are both great stories with excellent dialog, but they are quite focused in their purpose, providing limited interaction with the environments. Sure there were many opportunities to explore but in a tertiary role. <br />
<br />
But Fallout 4 isn't like that. Fallout 4 is all about exploring. Truth be told, exploration is of utmost importance. But it's not just about finding new locations to scavenge or participate in battle or scrounge for ammunition, health items, and bottlecaps (the currency of the Wasteland). Oh no, the exploration is vital to the most important aspect of Fallout 4: the stories. <br />
<br />
When I mention the stories, I'm not referring to the main story. It's rather predictable and not overly interesting. And I feel like this flaw in the game gives it a black eye. But thankfully the secondary and tertiary stories make up for the re-washed main story. These sad, gripping, and often gut-wrenching stories are what makes me ask the question, "Why aren't you playing Fallout 4?"<br />
<br />
More than just the scripted encounters are the random encounters. And true enough many of these random encounters are battle focused or essential equipment such as ammo or health, but there will also be random opportunities to engage in a story. You may come across a settler in dire need of medications. Or you may find a funeral that you can only be a witness to as there isn't an option to engage with the mourners. Or you may find a man circling a refrigerator and thinking aloud on how to open it. <br />
<br />
Even some of your available companions have deeply painful stories to tell such as MacCready or Old Longfellow. Maybe you've decided to solve the Eddie Winter quest with Nick Valentine, which you must to reach max affinity, and you learn about who Valentine used to be and why solving the Winter case is so important. <br />
<br />
More importantly though—if you take the time that is—you'll complete the saddest, most heart breaking story in the quest of Arlen Glass, a man who cared so much about making children happy he forgot to take time for his own daughter. When I finished Arlen's quest I had to take a minute away from the game to clear my throat. Or, perhaps, you'll come across Phyllis Daily, and if you have high charisma, she'll tell you about her grandson. Or maybe the Suttons and the terrible fate of a mother and two children thanks to an abusive, lazy father. <br />
<br />
Fallout 4 is filled with tough battles, complex battles, and fun, environmentally rich battles. But the greatest aspect of the game are the battles of the Commonwealth people. The war against total atomic annihilation, and the steps taken to keep families safe from a world no longer safe. What about the efforts of the Tournquist family to reunite, and of Jim to save his family within the confines of Big Jim's Salvage. And when you find Jim and his family take a moment to review what your eyes see, and then ask yourself: would you do the same? <br />

Well, it's that time again, Hyde, myself, and a few others are off back to our seasonal jobs.

It was a Really good year for gaming, tonnes of stuff to do, and our clan was all over the place! From Never Winter Nights, to Warframe, No Mans Sky, and a few others!

We had tonnes of fun playing Onigiri with Fordowesme, TChilly, UpInSmoke and Charles. They continued on to Neverwinter Nights.
SmashAGiant was just DESTROYING! everybody in basically every sports game for PS4.I Have yet to get his stats for the year, but when i do i'll make sure to post them (PROUD OF YOU!)

Fernando353 was killing YouTube with 5k follower for his crew playing all types of titles! Amazing as always fernando! you're awesome! you can check out his youtube channel here:
here

Azforlife623, DaemonHyde, myself, Mes, Scandale, KillYouFastH8tr, and DMC started on Warframe.

Scandale, AzForLife623, Meselak, and myself have been playing No Mans Sky lately and have been broadcasting our conversations and game play on YouTube. Not overly exciting but the conversation can get pretty hilarious at times!

We will probably continue to do so during the work season, however not as often as we'd like. AzForLife623 will probably continue while we are working.

Anyway thanks for tuning in and hanging out during this season, thanks to all the new recruits, we'll be seeing you time to time through the work season. I will be posting the 2015-16 video as soon as i can edit it. Send those videos is you have them.

THANKS!

In black ops 1, I was playing array (I think that's the name), the map that has the carriage thing hanging, you have to jump to it to get to the spot, well, anyways I was playing demolition on that map. The round was coming to an end, and I ran to the last bomb site, thinking someone is probably planting since my team is getting slaughtered inside the building. So I was at the top of the hill walking outside, threw a grenade over the big rock (that is on your right when coming out of the little building) and it was just a random throw. That random grenade ended the round, AND it was the final kill cam. So what happened was, I threw it over the rock, bounced off the tower, bounced off the bomb, rolled on the ground and blew up. There were, I think, two guys and a sentry turret. It was probably one guy and a sentry. But anyways, after the grenade blew up, I got points saying I destroyed a sentry, killed an enemy, and defended the bomb. I was speechless, jaw dropped to the floor xD. I did put it as a highlight in theater mode, but when I tried to find it recently, it wasn't there. I might have missed it or something, I'll probably put a comment below if I found it or not. Another moment was with a Semtex. It was on the same map, same game mode, but different lobby. I still do have this video in theater mode, but anyways, what happened was I was running down the middle part of the map but more near our spawn (the one near the heli pad), and I threw a random Semtex, which went through some polls/bars-thing, it stuck to the wall very close to the bomb. As I did that, the announcer voice guy said that there was an enemy rc-xd near me. Well, my Semtex exploded and it said I killed two enemies and defended the bomb, and destroyed an rc-xd. That Semtex stuck to the wall on the outside, killed ONE guy on the outside and it also killed a guy on the INSIDE. It killed the guy with the rc-xd, that guy probably thought he was safe hiding in a corner.

In modern warfare 3, I'm just gonna talk about a few moments, but I do have these saved in theater mode. I forgot what game mode I was playing, but it was on the map Dome, and I had a javalin. So I was near all of the jeeps, and I took out my javalin, locked on to the dome, because there were a few guys killing everybody over there, and I fired the rocket. It did its little hop out of the cannon, and shot up, stopped, and came back down. Since the dome was mostly covered, I thought about it and thought it wasn't gonna kill anybody. And I was right... Just kidding :p the Dome has holes in its dome/cover, so the javalin somehow went through the holes and I killed the guy(s) that were on the inside. On the map Terminal, I was at the back of the map, near the planes... Near the tanker. So I took out my trusty javalin pal, locked on to the hall way, and fired. I don't actually remember if I did get a kill or not:p. I was with my friend, playing infected, on the same map (terminal). My friend was on the planes wing, and I was on top of the building near the tank (gas tank, not a military tank). I got infected, and I threw a couple throwing knifes at him, both missed. So I jumped down from the building and a survivor was running, right under me. He didn't know I was falling above him xD. So once I was in range, I jabbed my knife and got him. I basically assassinated him (assassins creed style).

Black ops 2, only going to say a few also, most are in theater mode, praise to theater mode xD. So I was playing nuketown 2025, game mode was domination (try to capture flags A, B, and C). Flag B was very heavy with friendly's and enemies. So I spawned back in was at the house with the shuffle board (I think that's what it's called) and I threw a random grenade over the garage, hoping it gets to B. It explodes and I got two enemies with it. Ran over to B to try to get it. Got killed and spawned back in, same area. So I did another random grenade over the house and I got another kill. So... There was this one time though (this moment is not in theater mode). I joined a lobby, got a few more people in, I didn't feel like muting anybody, didn't feel like wearing my headset, and the game starts. Game mode was Hardpoint, the map was nuketown 2025. So I was mostly staying in the Hardpoint zone, getting some kills here and there. Wasn't doin real good, kept dying a lot. At the end, we won... But because I died so much, a guy on the enemy team (was probably very salty (salty means: to be very angry/upset/aggressive; does not really mean to be complaining a lot)) but anyways, this guy kept saying,"oh, you guys didn't win, you lost, you lost!" A guy on our team said how did we lose if it says we beat you? They were arguing back and forth and the guy (who was on the enemy team) "explained" why we "lost", "you guys lost" he said, " look at D-mc, he got more deaths then kills, he's at the bottom of the leaderboard, you guys lost..." Now I forgot what the guy from our team said but he was awesome (good guy he was :D) so I was thinking of getting off because it was like 2 or 3 in the morning. But hearing that guy keep saying it was my fault that we "lost", I stayed. That guy was on the enemy team (yay) and we were on nuketown again. At the end we won (again) and I didn't focus on the objective as much this time, and I was at the top of the leaderboard. I think that guy left after xD

Ghosts, sadly this game did not have theater mode, but I'll just talk about one amazing game and one game where I was a one man army. So the map we were on was a desert like map, a building in the middle, a little bunker/tunnel on the far side and a cliff on the other far side of the map. Game mode was like hunted... Hunter... Scavenger... Something like that, they removed that game mode for some reason, it was such a fun game mode. So the game mode, is I guess similar to Scavenger (from battlefield 3). In this mode, you start off with the weapons that are givin to you by the class you chose, then you go around trying to find stronger or better weapons from care packages, and kill enemies (of course). You also get throwing knifes. The match was coming to an end two more kills- now one more kill to end it. I threw a RANDOM throwing knife. ACROSS the MAP. And I got some one. Jaw dropped xD. And it was the final kill cam. Poor guy ran one way, TURNED around, started to run the other way, but got hit with that knife. The knife was thrown over the building, and across the map a bit, and killed that guy. The guy was behind a jeep btw... ... ... So there was this match I was in. Game mode was blitz. (Blitz- in this mode, you have two goals/portals, one enemy and one friendly. Your goal is to try to score in the enemy portal which you'll get a point for your team and you'll be teleported back to your spawn). Well, the game started, the map we were on is the one with the hanging bus. So we were doing pretty good, our team scored two times. Then the enemy team, started camping. A few guys camped at their portal, THE others were spawn camping us. About everybody on my team rage quit. Couldn't blame em. So it was me and this other guy left, we didn't have any Mics on, so communicating was going to be a bit hard to do. We could barely move as we spawned in. Now you're probably thinking, "you'll be home free once they run out of ammo". I thought that too but I got into a part of the building, they thought I died and they were waiting, then my team mate spawned in and *BLAM* ~dead~ I watched the guy that shot him got up, ran over, then went back to his camping, and I then realized they all have scavenger... Then after 45 deaths my team mate left and I was the only one on the team... I was a one man army... Some how, 20 deaths later, I snuck past them and scored. Did that a couple times, I really did not want to give up at the time. THEN I saw the score, I don't remember what it was like. it was 5 to 41 (giving you an example of how much they were crushing me)... I also noticed that I was able to score a few more because nobody was there to defend their portal. Well the reason was, once I scored, I went back to spawn, got killed by one of them, and I watched the kill cam to see what they were doing. One or two guys jumped into my portal, scored for them, while the others stay and shot those who spawned in. At that point, there was really no reason to keep playing, if they're just going to keep playing unfairly... so I quit.

You know, I just realized, we got the "activision" destiny... Before destiny was released, we saw gameplay of a lot of different things such as seeing your friends ship fly in and drop them off at a destination like patrolling the cosmodrome for example. You know the wall that's at the Divide on earth, in one of the game plays, you were able to go on top of it, climb over it. In one of the versions, they said that when you are in patrol, and a crucible match is happening, you can jump in and join that match if there's an open spot. this is in the version where we didn't have any invisible walls blocking us, probably the only time there would be an invisible wall preventing you to join that match is (I'm guessing) when the lobby/match is full. Another thing is the emote... That (legendary) slow clap emote that you now have to pay for in the destiny we got, would probably have been given to us in the version they showed that in. also in one of the reveal trailers, it shows a patrol area that's on earth, that we didn't get. The area looked like it was in a forest with paths and buildings, that looked all torn and fallen apart. The building looked like it was a watch tower, a windmill, or a light house, tower, it was some kind of tower with a spiral staircase. We were going to be able to patrol many locations (the 4 planets we got plus Saturns ring (for TTK)) For locations on Earth: old swamps of Chicago (taken out of the final release of the game), Mumbai push, eastern flood zone (you can go there but it's only in a crucible map), and European dead zone (another area only accessed in the crucible). Locations on Venus: Maat mons (area only accessed in the crucible), trial of kabr is accessible during the vault of glass raid, but is only a little area that you pass through, I hope we go to that area again, through a different pathway, actually showing a BIG area instead of a tiny piece of it. Locations on Mercury: mostly accessible by doing the crucible and getting a flawless on a trials passage. Locations on Saturn: Dreadnaught (got that but as DLC), I think we could have actually patrolled Saturn, before the discription for Saturn was saying that there were ships from the golden age were floating around in the rings of Saturn, I'm guessing that those ships were replaced by the dreadnaught. Locations for Mars's moon, Phobos: accessed in some story missions, but as DLC. Can also be accessed through the crucible (free). Jupiter was going to be a place to explore, to patrol. And then finally, Europa, a moon orbiting around Jupiter, could have also been a patrol area. Though, no sources say that they have been removed from, or didn't make it, to the final game, like old Chicago (which I'm kind of sad about that one). So that saying, maybe like how they did with Phobos and Saturn, they could be released as DLC. aka activisions version of destiny. But there is word that people who buy silver (micro transactions) will help make future DLC free to everybody. Or maybe this is another way to trick people in spending money then having to pay for the DLC in the future. It could be true or it could be a trick, I don't know, I'm hoping that it's true and we get free DLC (FREE DLC) in the future. Also, I should have probably put this near the top, what I mean by "Activisions" version of destiny is that they took content, put it as DLC, gave us a game that has loads of bugs and glitches and unbalanced weapons, barely any story/activities in the game (had to buy the DLC to get a better story, more activities to do). I do like the game, just I remembered that destiny was supposed to be a BIG open world kind of game, and then we just got probably 1/5th maybe like 1/6th of the game (vanilla destiny - not including DLC)

In battlefield: bad company 2 (rush game mode), the game just started and I straight away hopped on the guided rocket turret thing. The enemy was in a chopper and movin pretty fast. So I shot a rocket, and looked up at the sky. I then saw a hit marker, then 6 names pop up in the kill feed. Sadly, we some how lost that game. A couple things happened in Battlefield 3. So, one time, on an armored kill DLC map, I decided to be a bit stealthy, so I start crawling through the green fields. I've been crawling for 2 minutes, maybe 5, and out of nowhere a jeep DRIVES over me... It was an enemy jeep!! Some how I didn't die and I hopped up and started shooting the freakin guy, to get a vehicle. So I killed him, but once I got close to the vehicle, it blew up! Another thing that happened, it was in the same game, 10 minutes after being stealthy, I jumped on top of a tank, placed a LOT of explosives, got into the tank, and drove off. I was driving for a bit, when I realized, a enemy was chasing me, with a repair tool. So I start driving in circles, and this chase was going on for so long that I hopped out to kill him. But then he... He got control of the tank, at this point the roles were switched. After 5 minutes passed, I walked away and detonated the explosives. In a different server, I was flying around in a jet, and my friends were trying to get jets too, but this freakin chopper kept blowing up the jets as they spawn. I flew over the area where the chopper and my friends were and I flew around, started shooting the chopper with rockets, basically everything I could shoot at it, but it kept dodging every shot I shot at it. So I had only one final option that I could think of. So I went pretty far from the chopper, turned around, went full speed, targeted the chopper, and kamakazed it. My friends reactions were funny when they saw it happened. But one thing in Battlefield 4 that happened (even though I did a lot of amazing things in battlefield 3 & 4 (also with friends (like launching EOD bots and driving jeeps off cliffs)) was on the map Silk Road, I was in a tank, on a sand hill, and I saw a chopper way on the other side of the map. I guessed where it was going, shot, watched that little light get farther away from me and closer to the chopper, I was saying to myself that I was definitely not going to get across map chopper kill with a tank. But then in the distance I saw the light disappear into an explosion, then getting a six-kill kill feed. I was speechless xD

First off thanks for stopping by my blog, I know sometimes I can be wordy and long winded.

Fragninja is going through a lot of changes, recently went from a destiny focused website to a more broad spectrum of video gaming in general.

All of us here at fragninja have been long time gamers, hardcore dedicated type that play for hours on end. I would even venture a few of us would easily be able to go pro (SmashAgiant,ben_traffick, and fernando).  I figured it was time to broaden our network to include people who play all types of games.

Like E3 with we have decided to broaden our horizons and become a little more ambitious:

We recently added polls, so we could generate a more interactive experience between users as well as ourselves, incorporated video conferencing(desktop site only), and we are steadily working on a mobile application to suite our needs. This is just the beginning.

There is a lot more tome come in the next little while, think of these changes like our very own Expansion pack, only we won't be charging you $20 for emotes....

The next version of the site is already in the works.... and will include a lot more functions.

But I won't call the next version of the site a site, more like a Nexus....

See you in the Network my friends....

After reconstituting my head after it has exploded due to the amount of absolutely amazing stuff coming out of sony for the ps4 I have decided to write a blog post.

I know it's a bit late coming because I have been on night shift at my day job but here is a breakdown of what I think about the biggest and Best.

Right Off the hop we are greeted by a Game called The Last Guardian. It's a pretty game with wicked looking play cinematics. Absolutely stunning. For those of you who like 3rd person tombraider/soul reaver like play this game would be for you. It looks to offer some pretty in-depth story telling through visuals, while not much was explained in during the conference; it did however lend it self to the arts side of video games.

Next up was a rather gritty looking futuristic post apocalyptic man versus machine monster hunter looking title called Horizon: Zero Dawn. Game play looks akin to monster hunter (for those of you familiar with that series from capcom). The story looks compelling and the games play looks absolutely EPIC! A third person shooter adventure where one hunts and destroys rather monster-like machines both big and small. One stand out feature during games play was the ability to pick up various bits that fell of these machines and use them as weapons!  More then likely a title I will pick up once I get my hands on a PS4.

HITMAN! I haven't played hitman, nope not one. Not that I am uninterested I just never got a copy in my grubby hands to try. However I did watch my cousin Skurge_Uv_Man play it and I must say this new is heads above visually to make him turn his attention to it.

F&*K YEAH STREET FIGHTER!!!! thats right! I am a huge street fighter fan. Have been since the ARCADE was a thing. The visuals displayed on that screen were beyond stunning, and the fight between Cammy and Bison was EPIC beyond awesome. Again probably a title I WILL be picking up. Visuals looked amazing, Lets hope the game play delivers. Fighters as a genre have been failing for sometime with one exception... street fighter.

Destiny: The Taken King! OMG A hunter with a bow, A war lock shooting magic out of his hands, and a titan wielding a huge friggin hammer! I WANT MY HAMMER! I can't wait for this DLC. Hints of a new raid, and of course that new third class. New weapons and stuff! Oh hellz yes! toss me a copy of that bungie!

World of Final Fantasy, I don't know what to say about this one. I am a huge HUGE fan of Final Fantasy's earlier works. In fact I purchased Final Fantasy 1 for the NES. I played it to death! I played it to death across multiple platforms. I can say the same for Final Fantasy 4(2 North America) and Final Fantasy 6( 3 North america and My favourite of the franchise) and FF7. However I am not so impressed by this title, i guess i'll have to wait till I play it.

BLACK OPS 3!!!!!! At first i was a little apprehensive about this release. scared they would destroy something that I have loved to play in the past. After looking at both the story mode and online play... all i can say is has cool machines, and the vs mode plays like a hardcore version of destiny! F&*K YEAH I'LL TAKE IT! Running on walls, the plethora or guns, special abilities, I looks like it is not going to disappoint! However if you're not into the special enhancements, or haven't played destiny this might be a bit painful for those who don't like change. However for those of you who don't like change, trust me! It's going to be worth it!

I am going to skip over the disney star wars stuff, only because it's been done to death. and most of us already know what to expect.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake! Ok you can get mad ay square for regurgitating the same old games over and over. But you'll still buy them. THIS HOWEVER IS WAY MORE THEN ANYTHING THEY HAVE EVER RELEASED. Quite Possibly the most recognized FF in the whole series is getting a facelift, being modernized, and released! This was the first game I ever bought for my playstation 1, i got it the year it came out 2 months after it's initial release... i have been playing it over and over since that day and I WILL be playing it again and dishing out whatever they ask to buy it this time around! HELLZ YEAH!

Finally the most visually appealing 3rd person hardcore game I've ever seen... the new uncharted... I have yet to play ANY of the uncharted series, not real interest. Until i saw this. HOLY MOTHER OF F&*K! It's stunning to watch, you're thrown into the action almost instantaneously, it's non-stop "holy shit" through the entire show case. WOW! Stunning! Absolutely Stunning! Fast paced, it makes you WANT to play it. I will be picking this game up as soon as I can!

 This years Sony Press conference did not disappoint! If you do not have a PS4 Yet i really really suggest you get one. I will be! The line up is impressive! Sony, and the developers of these games have out done themselves and raised the bar pretty high. I look forward to the rest of this year and most of the next. Thanks Sony!

So this week in destiny has had everyone playing crucible between ironbanner(IB) or Trials Of Osiris(Trials) or just regular crucible and paying off bounties.So I've been playing IB and Trials which is all level advantage PvP and in Trials I did fine I went flawless four times and got pretty awful loot on it which is no surprise. Actually I had great connection on it.But then I went IB which was opposit,I played in fire teams of 6 most of the time and was win/losing every game. The thing is we were all level 33/34 playing against a field of players usually 30/31/32/33/34 and sometimes lower, AND WE WOULD GET RECKED BY LOWER LEVELS!!! Usually this is no problem but iron banner is level advantages ON. This is rediculous!Then there's hand cannons they're ok,well balanced except the thorn.The thorn is 1/2 shots kill if you use the extra burn when my Last Word is 3/4 with a head shot.Now why is a Thorn as strong as a shotgun HUH!?!Bogus!Other than that IB is fine and I recommend others to play it for some great loot.If you've been having the same problems or anything at all just message me or comment on the blog

For those of you who actually get useful weapons, this probably isn't for you. For those of you like myself I am sure you'll appreciate this.

A little Back ground

I play destiny enough, 3 - 4 times a week. I've ran Crota a dozens times, the vault of glass many times with limited success. I have all the Crota armour, and basically nothing from the vault of glass.

Now normally I don't complain, I mean I like the grind, it's a fun game, the game controls are fantastic, the levels are fantastic, and the story.... the story needs work.

Anyway i spent the better part of the night doing the daily, weekly, and weekly night fall, as per usual grinding away hoping i'll get a decent drop.... All knowing full well this is not going to happen. It's actually became a running joke.... "Oh GREAT ascendant <insert some upgrade material here I have 100's of>.

Insult to Injury

We completed Crota on normal because it was 1:00am and we were to tired to run through hard, we were all playing like crap. So we get out of hard more and start normal from the start only took 20 mins, probably less. I run to the chest open it crossing my fingers hoping beyond all hope I am going to get something awesome. I hold square the anticipation grows and POOF "ascendant shard!" i yell "YES! Guess what I got?!" and since it's me my cousin, cohort and friend FordOwesMe says "Ascendant shards!"  to which i reply "YOU Guess it! How did you know Thanks Bungie and F*&K YOU!".

We continue on our trek we seriously slap the smile of Crotas face in what has to be almost a record, the rewards start to roll it and I see weapon appear I am like "YES! FINALLY!" I go to my inventory to see what I GOT...  and what do you think it was ANOTHER Light of the abyss, something i already have and don't need!

In closing:

Why thank you bungie, thanks for all the ascendant materials, all the ascendant shards, the motes of light and strange coins, thanks for all the ABSOLUTE GARBAGE I can't use, while you're at it why not give me yet another blue or green engram. You know because need more stacks upon stacks upon stacks upon stacks of weapons parts and plate steel. The second light of the abyss I got I Immediately broke down, what did I get? ascendant shards and weapons parts... but thats not all i also got a huge heaping helping of frustration, annoyance, and intense dislike, i went on a tirade for about 10 minutes to fordowesme dismay which ended with: "Dude if this keeps up I think i am going to throw in the towel on this game, all i have to say is Thanks bungie, F^&k your hat, F&* your face, F&*k your mom, and f^&k you!"
